Ghana Adventist choir union chalks 50 years
The Ghana Adventist Choir Union (GACU) last week marked a major milestone by celebrating its 50th anniversary with a call to members to harness the power of music as a tool for evangelism.
The theme: ‘My Heart and Voice for Jesus’, resonated deeply with attendees at the Oyoko celebration in Koforidua.
The Director for Music, Youth, and Adventist Possibility Ministries (APM) at the Southern Ghana Union Conference, Pastor Mark Hado, emphasised the need for the choristers to sing to win souls for Christ.
“We must share the gospel with others to accelerate the spread of God’s word to the world,” he stated.
Pastor Hado encouraged members to deepen their faith and serve God with reverence, promising them divine protection from temptation.
The East Ghana Conference Director for Music, Youth and APM, Pastor Fredrick Attuah, announced the climax of the event which is scheduled for October 17-18 at the Kumasi Cultural Centre where the event will feature musical performances by choirs from across Ghana.
“It’s a privilege to sing for the Lord and win souls for Christ,” he said, and called for unity in achieving a common goal.
He said 15 out of the 20 districts in the EGC, including Asesewa, Koforidua, New Life, Oyoko, Begoro, Abirew, Kukurantumi, Effiduase, Asokore, among others attended the programme.
Again, he indicated that this milestone underscores the choir union’s commitment to using music as a powerful form of worship and evangelism.
Pastor Attuah noted that the upcoming event at the Kumasi Cultural Centre promises to be a highlight in the union’s history, bringing together voices from across the country in praise and worship.
