The chiefs and people of Ga Mashie staged a colourful procession and durbar to mark this year’s Homowo festival last Saturday.

It attracted visitors from several destinations to celebrate the occasion which is climaxed by the sprinkling of the traditional Kpokpoi by the chiefs.

Homowo, translated as ‘hooting at hunger’, denotes a season of abundance for which reason guests were received from all corners to partake in the festival.

Mostly cladded in red, the procession passes through the various streets in the Ga Mashie area with the youth especially in a frenzy.
