Executive Council Member Gifty Oware Mensah visits Black Princesses ahead of African Games

Executive Council Member of Ghana Football Association (GFA), Gifty Oware Mensah has paid a visit to the Black Princesses in Cape Coast ahead of the African Games, Accra 2023 multi sport event.

She encouraged the players to do well in the upcoming tournament and assured them of the Association and Government’s support.

“You are part of the fundamental of the Women’s game. Most of the players at the Queens passed through the Princesses and we rely on this team to feed the Queens,” she said.

She urged them “Going into the African Games is a test to how people will support us going into Colombia. Everyone has something to deliver but remember we are a team. We win together. You’re wearing the national colours so make the country proud.”

”I’m wishing you well and I’ll be here to watch and support you in your opening game against Ethiopia on Saturday. We believe in you to deliver. I know you’ll do well in this tournament and use it as preparation to go to Colombia,” she added.

According to her, ”The Government and the GFA will support you through thick and thin. You’ve already shown that you are champions after winning the WAFU B U-20 Girls Cup in Kumasi and so we are confident you’ll do well in this competition.”

Doctor Gifty Oware-Mensah was in the company of the Central Regiona GFA Chairman, Robert Duncan and representatives of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League clubs to present essential items to the team.

The Women Football event will take place at the Cape Coast sports stadium from March 9 to 21, 2024.
