The Minister of Education Haruna Iddrisu has assured all newly trained teachers that their salaries would be paid after the Minister of Finance Cassiel Ato Forson has presented the Mid-Year Supplementary Budget to Parliament.

He noted that the process has already began to issue all newly trained teachers Staff Identification Cards leading to payment of their salaries.

The Minister of Education gave this assurance when the Member of Parliament for Komenda/Edina/Eguafo/Abrem, Samuel Atta-Mills raised the issue on the floor of Parliament.

It would be recalled that on Monday 23rd June 2025, a group of newly trained teachers from the 2022 batch of College of Education graduates staged a protest at the Ghana Education Service (GES) headquarters in Accra over delayed staff identification numbers and months of unpaid salaries.

Answering questions on when stalled GETFund projects and the STEM school in the Weija-Gbawe Constituency will be completed, the Minister indicated that the Consultant on the instruction of the GETFund has recently submitted cost to estimates for the remaining works.

He said this will aid the allocation of funds to ensure the completion of the project, adding that the Ministry is hopeful that once funds are made available, the Project will be completed by the end of the year.
