Defamatory suit: Agradaa pays Empress Gifty GH¢ 100,000, renders public apology
Self-acclaimed Evangelist, Patricia Asiedua, affectionately called Nana Agradraa has paid gospel musician, Empress Gifty, GH¢100,000.
She has also rendered a public apology for defamatory statement made against her.
This follows two suit by Empress Gifty on May 20, 2025, at the Tema High Court and Tema Land Court against Nana Agradaa for publicly defaming her.
Empress Gifty in the suits demanded damages of GH¢ 20 million each.
However, Agradaa later pleaded for out of court settlement for which the plaintiff Empress Gifty obliged.
According to Richard Asare Baffour, lawyer for Agradaa in an interview with the media, the agreed settlement was on January 20, 2026, adopted as a Consent Judgment by both the Tema Land Court and the Tema High Court, formally ending the two cases filed in May and June 2025.
As part of the out court settlement, Nana Agradaa has paid legal fees of GH¢ 100,000 to Empress Gifty, and additionally rendered a public apology for the defamatory statement against Empress Gifty.
She also committed to a request for the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) facilitate the removal of the defamatory publications from social media platforms.
Nana Agradaa is also to delete the said videos from all her social media platforms.
The court has adopted the settlement agreement as a consent judgement.
