A Ghanaian food content creator, Chef Abbys, last week fed over 15,000 people on the streets of Accra to mark World Food Day (WFD).

It is ‘boggie’ time

Supported by other food content creators, food companies, and social media influencers, she served food to people at several vantage points such as Kwabenya, Fadama, Madina, and the Efua Sutherland Park.

Known as the “Big Street Feast,” the event was organised under the theme “Wherever you are, food will find you,” to commemorate World Food Day.

World Food Day, celebrated on October 16 every year, aims to promote global awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and to highlight the need to ensure healthy diets for all.

This year, the day was marked worldwide under the theme “Hand in Hand for Better Food and a Better Future.”

The event featured food trucks and Yango delivery services, which shared meals such as Attiéké, jollof, plain and fried rice, fries, banku with tilapia, kenkey with sardine, and pastries to people on the streets of Nima, Dansoman, and other communities in Accra amidst music.
