Celebrating the fathers, our mentors and counsellors

Father’s Day is a special occasion set aside to celebrate the men who play the role of fathers in our lives. While mothers are often praised for their nurturing roles, fathers also make immense sacrifices that sometimes go unnoticed.

Across Ghana, many fathers wake up before dawn and return home late at night, working tirelessly to provide food, shelter, education and security for their families.

Beyond their role as providers, fathers serve as mentors, disciplinarians, counsellors and role models who help shape the character and future of their children.

The Spectator roamed around some of the hidden places of the capital for exclusive pictures of what fathers go through daily to provide for the family.

As we celebrate fathers tomorrow, let us also remember those who continue to overcome challenges to support their families. Their quiet strength, dedication and love deserve recognition not only on Father’s Day but every day of the year. Happy Father’s Day to all fathers and father figures.
