AWUSCO old students urged to partner school management
The Volta Regional Director of Education, Mr Francis Yaw Agbemadi, has called on old students of Awudome Senior High School (AWUSCO) to continue to partner with school management in the development of their alma-mata.
According to him, if they strengthen such collaboration they can identify and prioritise projects that are most needed in the educational institutions to complete government’s effort.
Delivering the keynote address on the theme “honouring the past, shaping the future” at the homecoming and speech and prize giving day, Mr Francis Agbemadi noted that the contributions of old students reflect a deep connection to the school and their commitment to partner their alma mater.
He observed that AWUSCO over the years have contributed a lot in human resource development to all sectors of the economy and should be applauded for that.
He noted that there are a lot of imminent situation of chaos and indiscipline in second cycle institutions as the sign- posts to moral conduct have fallen on the ground.
He therefore urged all stakeholders to lead the crusade to restore moral values among the citizenry especially students.
Government, he assured would continue to create a conducive atmosphere for effective teaching and learning for the students.
The headmaster of the school, Mr Courage Meteku, in his report indicated that the school continue to chalk successes in the WASSCE results.
He enumerated some of the challenges the school is facing; among them are overcrowding of students and furniture.
Professor Leonard Amekudzi, the outgone national president of OSUA, observed that the school did not only need just the financial investment of old students but the experience, networks, entrepreneurial spirit and loyalty of old students.
He urged all to continue to support the new national executive to deliver their collective vision and strategic plans of the association.
He then handed over the mantle of leadership to the new national president, Dr Felix Kwame Nyarko, who called on everyone to come on board for a solid association.
Awards were presented to deserving students and staff.
