The final year students of the Department of Fashion Design and Textile at Accra Technical University (ATU), last Friday treated guests and colleagues to a spectacular showcase of creativity and innovation during their fashion show in Accra.

It was under the theme, “Building a Sustainable Fashion Model: Advancing Timeless Collections.”

The fashion show was preceded by an exhibition on Thursday which also saw a display of amazing fabrics and unique designs from the students.

Speaking at the fashion show, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the ATU, EngrProf.AmeviAcakpovi, said the theme reflected their dedication to fostering a fashion industry that respected Ghanaian culture and promoted enduring styles.

He acknowledged the efforts of the department saying, “this department has consistently been a beacon of excellence, producing graduates who are not only skilled designers but also innovators and leaders in the fashion industry.”

“Their collections are a reflection of their hard work, guided by the wisdom and expertise of our esteemed faculty. These designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and forward-thinking, embodying the principles of sustainability and timeless fashion,” he stressed.
