A wave of nostalgia swept across the Lé Shrine Executive Pool Club at Laboma Beach Resort as the 2004 year group of Apam Senior High School (SHS) marked the 20th anniversary of completion.

The pool party, one of several events organised by the group’s executives, brought together members across the country with their families and friends.

Attendees participated in a variety of fun activities, including gari ‘soaking’ drinking, apple eating contest, and games like draughts, ludo, and playing cards, and a dance competition.

Members living abroad also joined virtually.

Mr Richard Amoh Asante, President of ASSOSA 2004, welcomed everyone and emphasised the event’s role in fostering connections and reminiscing school days.

He pointed out that many attendees were meeting for the first time since graduation.

The gathering provided the platform to reconnect, reflect on their activities over the years and discussed strategies for a legacy project: the redevelopment of the beloved school eatery, “Tree Under,” into a modern facility.

“The 2004 ‘Tree Under’ redevelopment project is our way of expressing gratitude to the school for what it has done for us,” he stated. He encouraged members worldwide to support the initiative by contributing financially.

Mr Robert Nyarko, a former business tutor, now a patron of the association, highlighted the significance of alumni involvement in the school’s development. He urged members to fully commit to raising sufficient funds for the legacy project, praising the executives and members for taking on this important task.

“This is a substantial undertaking, and I commend everyone for the dedication to give back to the school.”

The group plans to hold a sod-cutting ceremony for the legacy project on the school campus on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
