Akoefe Tokor residents mark 10th anniversary of Togbe Dosor with fundraising exercise

Residents of Akoefe Tokor in the Ho Municipality last weekend celebrated the 10th anniversary of the chief of the town, Gligbafia Togbe Kakla Akoe Dosor, with an impressive durbar that saw the inhabitants commit to the chief’s developmental projects.
Faced with numerous challenges in the area, the residents momentarily abandoned the celebration and merry-making, channelling their energies into a special fundraising exercise to support the projects.
Amidst some rich borborbor and zigi dance moves and displays from an ‘asafo’ group, the area was thrown into frenzy with the Development Chief of Akoefe Tokor, Dumega Deti Kwawuvi, leading the celebration and an intense fundraising.
The original plan was for the inauguration of a water system, the first of many projects promised by the chief and his elders.
Togbe Kakla Akoe Dosor needed a total of GH₵631,466.00 to complete five of the mechanised water systems he initiated.
At the end of the exercise, over GH₵32,000 was realised to support of the project.
Togbe Kakla Akoe Dosor thanked the citizens for the support for the past 10 years, making it possible for him to make progress in the community.
The Development Chief, Dumega Deti Kwawuvi, said the completion of the GH₵210, 488.00 mechanised water system for the population of 2,213 people was not adequate but showed the chief’s commitment to improve the living conditions of the people.
The Agbonugla of Akoefe Tokor, Kofisa Fiagbor said the Gligbafia Togbe Kakla Akoe Dosor has also built a library, computer laboratory for the basic school and a community information centre for the town.
