2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards powered by Smirnoff launched

The 2025 Guinness Ghana DJ Awards, was officially launched in grand style last Saturday in Accra.
The 13th edition of Africa’s biggest DJ event, themed ‘Shake the Floor’ promises to be yet another milestone celebration of Ghana’s vibrant DJ culture.
The award will feature a Jamaican sound-clash segment on November 29.
Reigning Event DJ of the Year, DJ Pho, set the ball rolling on the night with mind-blowing skills on the turntables, treating attendees to back-to-back sing-along classics before handing over to DJ Phantom and DJ Sly King, who both elevated the soul of the launch to another altitude.
The night also saw music performances from Dancehall artiste Aklerh, Hiplife group Keche and Afrobeat singer Mopthy.
Speaking at the launch, organisers Merqury Republic revealed an exciting calendar of activities designed to sustain the buzz ahead of the main event, which is slated for November 29, 2025 at the Palms Convention Center, La – Accra.
According to the organisers, prior to the main event, six out of Ghana’s 16 regions will host the much-anticipated Pubfest – Greater Accra, Volta, Bono, Ashanti, Western and Central regions.
The launch attracted some of the most influential personalities in the creative industry including Gilbert Aggrey, affectionately called, Abeiku Santana – Deputy CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, and Mr Ahumah ‘Daddy Bosco’ Ocansey – Board Member, Ghana DJ Awards, both of whom delivered keynote addresses.
