UBA Ghana joined the rest of the continent in commemorating African Union (AU) Day 2025 with a spirited celebration that honoured Africa’s cultural identity, unity, and heritage.

Held under the bank’s network theme, “Africa by Africans: Partnering for Progress,” the celebration took place across all UBA branches and offices nationwide. It brought employees together in a colourful expression of African pride through traditional fashion, food, and storytelling that highlighted the continent’s deep-rooted diversity.

Staff adorned in various traditional outfits

Staff proudly showcased vibrant African attire representing various ethnicities and cultures. A highlight of the event was the Best Dressed competition, which recognised outstanding male and female participants at both Accra and outstation locations. The showcase turned workplaces into cultural arenas of colour and creativity.

Adding to the festive spirit, local treats were served at all UBA business offices, evoking a sense of warmth and nostalgia reflective of Africa’s culinary richness. The entire event was a tribute to the beauty of African heritage and the power of unity.

Speaking on the occasion, Henry Nii Dottey, Regional Head, MCC West Africa/Anglophone, and Head of Marketing & Corporate Communications, UBA Ghana said: “Africa Day is not just a date on the calendar—it is a celebration of our shared heritage and the limitless potential of our continent.”
