Serve God with one mind, heart and soul …Outgoing Minister urges Christians
Members of the Rev. I.K. Asuamah Memorial Methodist Church in Accra have bid farewell to Very Rev. Mrs Naana Esi Danyame at a send-off ceremony marked by thanksgiving, prayers and expressions of appreciation for her service to the church.
The ceremony, held on Sunday, also highlighted the importance of Christian unity, faith and cooperation in advancing the mission of God and promoting spiritual growth among members of the congregation.
As part of the event, citations were presented to Very Rev. Mrs Danyame in recognition of her service. She also received gifts, including vegetables, fruits, bottled water and cash, as tokens of appreciation and goodwill.
Speaking at the send-off service in Accra on Sunday, Very Rev. Mrs Danyame urged Christians to remain united in faith and purpose, stressing that unity was essential to fulfilling the mission of God.
She encouraged members of the congregation to serve God with one mind, one heart and one soul, while striving to reflect the character of Jesus Christ in their daily lives.
Drawing lessons from the prayer of Jesus Christ for His disciples, she said Christians must cultivate a personal relationship with God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to strengthen their faith and deepen their commitment to Christian service.
She acknowledged that the Christian journey was not always easy, as believers could encounter trials, temptations and other difficulties, but said faith in Christ would enable them to overcome such challenges.
Very Rev. Mrs Danyame, therefore, urged the congregation to remain steadfast in prayer and trust God for protection, guidance and strength in their individual lives and families.
She also prayed for God’s continued protection over the minister and members of the congregation, asking Him to guide them and help them remain faithful to their calling.
The outgoing minister further encouraged Christians to bear fruit in their service to God and conduct themselves in ways that would bring glory to His name.
The ceremony ended with prayers and thanksgiving as members reflected on her service and wished her well in her future endeavours.
