Persistent lies tearing us apart

Dear Obaa Yaa,

We were lovers while in school and later got married after school.

Though we love each other and are blessed with two children, the behaviour of my wife is gradually pushing me aside.

Of late, a gentleman in our community has been peddling falsehood about me and my wife believes whatever he says. Though I have explained to her that it is not true she has refused to believe my explanation and this matter is disturbing me.

My worry is that my wife was very submissive and understanding until this gentleman came to settle in the area. No wonder her character has changed suddenly and she does not want to listen to me any longer

I have realised that despite many warnings, this gentleman is determined to destroy my marriage .

Though I have informed my in-laws about the behaviour of my wife, she has not changed and the situation is growing from bad to worse.

What step should I take to salvage my marriage since I love my wife?

Nana Kwame- Kumasi.

Dear Nana Kwame,

I wish to commend you for taking steps to inform your in-laws about the sudden change in character of their daughter.

Marriage triumphs in an atmosphere of love, trust and tolerance, therefore,if these ingredienits are not available then there is bound to be problem.

Take steps to explain to your wife that her marriage is on the verge of collapse if she continues to listen to the third party instead of you.

Since you love your wife and have taken a few steps to resolve the matter without success, then you have to contact your church elders to intervene.

I wish you the best in your efforts.
