Parliament not aware of your appointment – Afenyo-Markin tells Callistus Mahama

Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has raised issues with the nature of President John Mahama’s communication to Parliament.
According to him, the lack of communication with Parliament regarding some decisions by the President is disappointing.
In his remarks during the Appointment Committee’s sitting today to vet President Mahama’s appointees, he said Parliament is not even aware of the appointment of Executive Secretary,Dr.Callistus Mahama.
“Secretary to the President, Parliament is not even aware of your appointment. Because under normal circumstances, the President is even supposed to communicate to Parliament. It’s part of the imperatives of governance that he communicates to Parliament,” Afenyo-Markin stated.
Dr. Callistus Mahama was appointed by President John Dramani Mahama on January 6, 2025, with his appointment officially taking effect on January 7, 2025.
