#OccupyJulorbiHouseProtest: Lady who went viral sacked by private employers

Nasiba Bawa, a lady who went viral during the last day of the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration has been sacked by her private employers 48 hours after the protest.
On September 23, the last day of the three-day protest which was aimed at protesting against corruption, economic mismanagement and unemployment, Nasiba Bawa was seen in a viral video charging at the police.
Ms.Bawa was heard saying she is angry people are dying because they cannot afford dialysis, coupled with a poor health system and harsh economic situation.
Speaking with Joy News’ Maxwell Agbagba, Nasiba Bawa said she doesn’t want to draw a correlation between the termination of her contract and the protest knowing there is always a price to pay for speaking out.
Nasiba Bawa said she has worked there for some time and doesn’t know her former employers to be partisan, adding that it is why she doesn’t want to draw the connection.
“I don’t know it to be partisan, I was not told that was the reason, I wasn’t rebuked even though my video went viral, so it is really hard to say, if it is because of it, fair enough, there is always a price to pay for everything,” she said.
“They said when I was sick and took some days off, they hired someone to replace me for three weeks,” she said.
According to her, 48 hours after the demonstration, she was informed that the new person would take over in October.
Regardless, she said this situation will not deter her from fighting for a better health system.
However, a Labour Expect, Senyo Agyabeng has said, Nasiba Bawa’s former employers erred in terminating her contract.
