National Theatre Begins Cultural Partnership with German Theatre Group
The National Theatre of Ghana has hosted a delegation from a German theatre group in Accra. The meeting, held at the Theatre’s premises, marked the start of a cultural exchange programme between Ghanaian and German theatre professionals.
The visit allowed both teams to introduce themselves and discuss plans for future joint activities. These include theatre workshops, shared performances, and learning opportunities aimed at boosting creativity and artistic growth.
The German group, made up of freelance theatre artists, also pledged to donate equipment to help improve the National Theatre’s technical and production resources.
Speaking at the event, Acting Executive Director Mr. Henry Herbert Malm praised the initiative and thanked all those who helped make it possible. He said the partnership supports the Theatre’s mission to promote the performing arts and build global connections.
The German visitors expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared their excitement about working with Ghanaian artists. They emphasised their commitment to cultural exchange and supporting the Theatre’s goals.
This collaboration is expected to lead to more joint productions and training programmes, strengthening the National Theatre’s role as a centre for international artistic cooperation.
