Ghanaian broadcaster, Nana Aba Anamoah has teamed up with three celebrated female African personalities for this year’s edition of the Woman of Valour (WoV) event.
WoV is a women empowerment event that seeks to bring together strong, courageous women to share their stories of triumph, losses and life experiences to inspire others to greatness.
This year’s event is themed, “Against All Odds, encapsulating the spirit of those who rise above adversity and defy expectations and who navigate life obstacles with unwavering determination.”
It would be held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) auditorium on March 7, to mark International Women’s Day.
According to the organisers, patrons would be uplifted through insightful stories shared by renowned Nigerian actress Rita Dominic, astute South African media personality Bonang Matheba and Ghana’s celebrated film producer, Shirley Frimpong Manso.
Speaking at the launch last Thursday, Founder of WoV, Nana Aba Anamoah said the new venue is spacious enough to accommodate the audience.
According to her, people take advantage of others when they assume leadership positions.
“If you cannot hold another woman’s hand to help her grow, then you are not worth your salt, “she said.
She also urged women in leadership positions to push the women’s agenda for a wonderful society.
The Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Simone Giger on her part, touched on the need to do away with gender discrimination for development.
She also called for deliberate moves towards positive development through alliances by influential women in society commending the WoV initiative.
