Man with flashy car swindles mobile money vendor at Nkrumah Circle

Mobile money vendors are duped often
One of the prolific African Writers, Prof Chinua Achebe of blessed memory said “Since men have learnt to shoot without missing, a bird by name Eneke has also learnt to fly without perching”.
This afore-stated proverb fits into new tactics employed by some fraudsters to outwit mobile money vendors in Accra, following measures put in place by the Ministry of Communications to stem the tide of cyber crime in the country through the ongoing Sim re-registration.
Some of these criminals now drive cars to mobile money vendors under the guise of coming to transact business and end up defrauding their victims.
A classical case was when a man drove a porche car to a female mobile money vendor last Friday at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle ( a crime hub) and asked her to transfer GH¢1,500.00 into his mobile money wallet while he was comfortably seated in his car.
The victim (name withheld) taking the said fraudster for his word, transferred the GH¢1,500.00 into his wallet but the man sped off in his car soon as the money hit his account leaving the vendor utterly confused.
When this reporter visited the victim on Wednesday afternoon to find out whether she had reported the case to the police or MTN Head office for the necessary action to be taken, she answered in the negative but said she was recovering gradually from the shock she got on that fateful day.
