Man accused of insulting Otumfuo battling mental illness – Asuofua Polyclinic
A medical report from the Asuofua Polyclinic in the Ashanti Region has confirmed that Mustapha Suleiman, the man who recently drew public attention over alleged insults against the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is battling a mental health condition.
According to the report signed by Yayra Kwame Amengor of the clinic’s psychiatric unit, Mr. Suleiman, 29, has been diagnosed with a mental and behavioural disorder linked to multiple substance abuse.
The report said he first visited the facility on 13 September 2024 and last reported on 22 August 2025. He is currently on monthly antipsychotic injections and tablets but is experiencing a relapse.
The medical officer recommended that the authorities take Mr. Suleiman’s condition into account and support him with the treatment he needs.
Mr. Suleiman became the focus of public discussion after videos and reports emerged of him allegedly making derogatory remarks about the Asantehene.
