KOSA ‘79-83’ Year Group presents vehicle to Dorcas Margaret Foundation
Members of Komenda College Old Students Association (KOSA) ‘79-83’ Year Group have presented a Toyota Vitz saloon car to Ms. Dorcas Margaret Madjitey to aid mobility and her philanthropic mission.
The association handed over the vehicle at a short ceremony on Valentine’s Day attended by family and friends of the Dorcas Margaret Foundation (DMF) at Cape Coast.
Ms. Dorcas Madjitey who is a survivor of a rare condition known as Spina Bifida continues to make progress in her educational and professional endeavours. The Spectator in July 2021, published her story and called on benevolent organisations to support her vision and mission.
The gesture, according to the group, was to show love and affection to Dorcas for her determination to contribute meaningfully to society and inspire other less privileged persons in spite of her physical challenge.
Mrs Gifty Nyomi, speaking on behalf of the association, described the recipient as a ‘special friend’ and a strong personality committed to the service of people.
She said the group was concerned about the safety and movement of Dorcas hence its initiative to mobilise funds and support her foundation and the desire of reaching out to persons with disability.
She praised members of the ‘79-83’ group for supporting a worthy cause, indicating the association intended to mark February 14 every year as National Old Students Philanthropy Day.
Lady Pastor Joyce Madjitey, speaking on behalf of the family, thanked KOSA and other media outlets that told her daughter’s story, adding that the vehicle would be maintained to promote the works of the Dorcas Margaret Foundation.
