Interior Ministry imposes curfew on Binduri township and its environs

The Interior Minister, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak has imposed a curfew on Binduri township and its environs in the Upper East Region.
This was contained in a press release signed by the minister.
According to the release issued today, the Minister for the Interior acted on the advice of the Upper East and North East Regional Security Councils.
By Executive Instrument he imposed Curfew on Binduri Township and its environs in the Upper East Region from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am effective Monday, March 24, 2025.
Against this backdrop, the Government has urged Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth, and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.
Meanwhile, the release added that there is a total ban on all persons in the Binduri Township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons, men wearing of smock, riding motorbikes and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.
