I will rate music over real estate – Sarkodie
Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur Michael Owusu Addo, known as Sarkodie, says music is a safer and more profitable business than real estate.
Speaking at an event in Kumasi, Sarkodie explained that music should not be seen only as entertainment but as a serious money-making venture.
“I will rate music over real estate,” he said, adding that the creative industry can bring big returns for those who invest in it.
He added that the growth of Afrobeats had boosted the confidence of Africans in the diaspora and created global events such as Afro Nation, showing the power of African music to transform lives and economies.
Sarkodie urged both wealthy investors and ordinary individuals to consider putting their money into music.
He stressed the importance of ownership and partnership, noting that he personally owns 100 per cent of his work but allows partners to take a share depending on their contributions.
He added that even people without large amounts of capital can buy shares in music and benefit from its growth.
