I have not rescinded my decision to contest as Independent Candidate Cynthia Morrison
Member of Parliament for Agona West Constituency, Cynthia Mamle Morrison has cleared the air regarding reports making rounds that she has rescinded her decision to go Independent.
Cynthia Morrison, who is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament, is now contesting the same seat as an independent candidate.
As one of the MPs affected by the Speaker’s ruling, she was seen in a photograph with some of the leadership of the NPP yesterday when Parliament reconvened, and it has generated a lot of conversations.
Responding to the circulating photo, Cynthia Morrison said it is not true that she has rescinded her decision to contest as an independent candidate.
She further charged the public to dispel the propaganda that she had taken some money from the NPP to end her contest.
According to her, she is in the race to better the lives of her constituents.
Against this background, she urged all her supporters to remain resolute and campaign vigorously for her.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on Thursday, October 17, declared four seats in parliament as vacant.
The affected MPs are Cynthia Morrison (Agona West), Kojo Asante (Suhum), Andrew Asiamah (Fomena), and Peter Kwakye Ackah (Amenfi Central).
