GFZA CEO hosts high-level delegation from Dubai Port

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA),
Dr. Mary Awusi, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, hosted a high-level delegation from Dubai Port (DP) World, a leading multinational logistics company headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the Authority’s Head Office in Accra.

The delegation was led by the UAE Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Dr. Abdulla Al Mandoos, and included the Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World, Mr. Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem; Mr. Mohammed Ismail, Senior Vice President of Business Development at DP World; as well as other senior executives of the company.

The discussions focused on DP World’s interest in establishing operations in Ghana, with particular emphasis on the development of the Afienya Export Processing Zone into a world-class technology and logistics hub under the auspices of the GFZA.

In her remarks, Dr. Awusi welcomed the timeliness of DP World’s interest in Ghana and emphasized the country’s stable political climate, resilient economic outlook, and the competitive advantages offered under the Ghana Free Zones Scheme.

She highlighted the strong alignment between DP World’s global expertise and the strategic objectives of the Authority.

She assured the delegation of the Authority’s commitment to providing comprehensive investor support, including handholding services throughout the investment journey.

Both parties expressed optimism about the potential collaboration and committed to advancing discussions toward a mutually beneficial partnership.
