Emmanuel Family Assemblies of God Church in Ashaiman gets new minister
The Golf City branch of the Emmanuel Family Assemblies of God (A/G) Church, Ghana Bethlehem, Ashaiman, over the weekend inducted Rev. Isaac Nii Adjei Smith as the new minister of the church.
Rev. Smith took over from Rev. Emmanuel Osei Owusu who served the branch for many years.
The service was attended by friends and families of celebrated ministers from other denominations.
Delivering the sermon on the theme: ‘Challenge of Our Fathers’, the Assemblies of God Regional Superintendent for the Greater Accra-East Region, Reverend Andrews N. Awintia, urged Christians to remain steadfast and faithful during challenging times.
Reverend Awintia advised the new minister to focus on the future and what God would do through him for the church as the shepherd, noting that many large churches started small but grew through hard work and proper planning.
In his inaugural speech, Rev. Smith said without faith and perseverance, it would be difficult for anyone to survive serving in the Kingdom of God.
“The Christian Ministry is a process, and as gold passes through fire before it becomes precious, so should ministers be courageous and keep faith in the Lord to help them overcome temptations,” he indicated.
According to him, his biggest task would be to win souls by directing and encouraging backsliders and wandering souls to seek peace in the Lord.
Rev. Smith asked for support in prayers from the church for God’s strength and direction to enable him overcome every challenge that might come his way.
The outgoing Minister, Reverend Emmanuel Osei Owusu, urged the church to extend the same unflinching support he and the family enjoyed to the new minister to make their stay comfortable.
Reverend Smith, who was born on June 18, 1980, is married to Mrs. Georgina Adjei and blessed with two children.
He holds a Diploma in Theology from the School of the Word in Kumasi in 2006 and from the Assemblies of God, Ghana Theological and Missionary Seminary, Northern Campus (2013) and also has a strong background in ministry.
The new minister had served in various branches of the church, including Sunyani, Fiapre, Tachimenta, and Bechem, exhibiting zeal, commitment, and dedication for the Lord’s work.
Rev. Smith founded the True Vine Assemblies of God in Kubekro No.1 with the assistance of Reverend Joseph Hammond.
