Don’t stay indoors when you’re sick …students told
Mr George Attara Boye
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gabson Pharmacy Limited, Mr. George Attara Boye has urged students to try as much as possible to seek medical attention when they fall sick.
According to him, most students stay indoors when sick until they are not able to control themselves before they attend hospital.
“This is a bad practice which can put school authorities who might not have any knowledge of the situation in trouble,” he said.
Mr Attara Boye said this when he represented six pharmaceutical companies to donate drugs to the Seventh-Day Adventist College of Education (SedaCoe) Clinic at Koforidua on Tuesday.
The companies are: Unichem Ghana Ltd, M&G Pharmaceuticals, GR Industries, Pharmanova Ltd, Eskay Therapeutics and Gabson Ltd.
The drugs comprising boxes of diclofenac tabs, para+brufen tabs, albenazole suspension, ciprofloxacin, amoxicillin suspension, buscopan tab, zercid suspension, eskaron syrup, nifedose and other malaria and pain relief drugs, cotton wool, gauze bandage and many more, cost over GH¢12,000.00.
Mr Attara Boye advised students to be very careful and also guard against substance abuse such as contraceptive pills, sex enhanced drugs among others.
He said that the donation was the first of its kind to the College and pledged the companies preparedness to assist the clinic to reach the required standard.
He said the donation was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility to the college, as it was published in The Spectator that the institution was in dire need of drugs for its clinic.
