Big Ghun graduates with Master’s Degree on eve of premiere of ‘Vibes The Movie’
Just few hours to the premiere of his maiden movie, ‘Vibes The Movie’ at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall and West Hills Mall on Saturday, October 4, budding filmmaker, Nicholas Tetteh Nartey, popularly known as Big Ghun has worn another feather in his cap.
Today, October 3, he has earned a Master’s degree in Brands and Communications Management from the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
He posted the good news on social media with the caption “Another win is here”. Indeed, it is a big win for the award winning filmmaker who’s had to juggle rigorous academic work with the demanding world of filmmaking to be part of Ghanaian creatives steadily climbing the academic ladder.
Big Ghun joins a list of Ghanaian entertainers such as musician Becca, Sarkodie’s personal DJ, DJ Mensah and Multimedia’s Doreen Avio who’ve equally earned Master’s degree in Brands and Communications Management from the same institution in previous years.
He is confident his new academic feat will shape and sharpen his career path and choices as he makes a bold step with the premiere of ‘Vibes The Movie’.
The Vibes phenomenon began as a weekly social media series blending rap, comedy, and relatable storytelling about the everyday hustle of Ghanaian youth.
Within just a year, it captured the nation’s attention, amassing over 10 million views across various social media platforms and featuring many influential personalities who added their own spark to the movement.
The drama features an impressive list of talents including Clemento Suarez, Aaron Adatsi, Feli Nuna, Giovani Caleb, Godwin Namboh, among others.
Big Ghun, is making headway in the entertainment industry wearing different shoes as a musician, director, producer, social media influencer and entrepreneur.
Projecting his brand as a bourgeois, Big Ghun who’s also known as ‘Small boy sugar daddy’ is the Managing Director of PB Studios Africa Company Limited, a production outfit with specialisation in TV commercials, TV shows, movies, documentaries and animations.
In 2013, Leaked, a movie he co-directed saved Ghana at this year’s Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) when it picked the MultiChoice Talent Factory award.
He is confident Vibes The Movie will capture similar feats after premiering.
