BET nomination: I’m still shocked -Camidoh
Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Camidoh, has revealed that his recent Black Entertainment Television Award (BET) nomination comes to him as a surprise.
The ‘Sugarcane’ crooner was yesterday nominated in the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act category of this year’s Black Entertainment Television awards.
Speaking in an interview with AJ Sarpong on TV3, Camidoh revealed that his nomination for this year’s BET comes to him as a surprise.
“I am still in shock. I had to take time to really process it because this is a big blessing,” Camidoh said.
Camidoh said, the nomination was not something he was looking out for, but he is grateful.
Recounting how he received the news, Camidoh told AJ Sarpong that he was preparing for an interview when his phone kept buzzing with notifications and congratulatory messages.
According to him, it is a recognition of his hard work, and would continuously push his music to the top.
He expressed appreciation to all those who have supported his career in one way or the other.
Camidoh’s Sugarcane’s remix picked the Best International Collaboration of the Year at the 24th VGMAs.
The youngster will be up against Asake of Nigeria, Raye and Flo of the UK, Labianca of Cameroon, Maureen and Werenoi of France, MC Ryan FC of Brazil and Pabi Cooper of South Africa.
The awards will be held on Sunday, June 25 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, USA.
