 Asogli holds durbar to climax Yam Festival

•Togbe Afede exchanging pleasantries with people

 Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, says to succeed in our collective effort to maintain peace and unity as a country, an attitudinal change of all and sundry is required.

Togbe Afede XIV made the call at the grand durbar held last Saturday at Ho Jubilee Park to crown their 2024 Asogli Yam Festival.

It was on the theme: “Let’s ensure Freedom and Justice for all” with people coming from far and near, political parties and other dignitaries. Togbe Afede entreated all to stop illegal mining (galamsey) in the country, which is destroying water bodies and natural resources.

He also urged the Elec­toral Commission (EC) to ensure all it takes to hold a free and fair elections.

Professor Kwabena Frim­pong Boateng, a former Minister of State, who was the special guest of honour also added his voice to ap­peal to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to come out with measures that can stop galamsey.
