Asere Mantse calls for peace ahead of elections

The Paramount Chief of the Asere Traditional Area, Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III, has called for the sustainability of peace and unity among the Ga communities ahead of the December general elections.

Speaking during the Homowo festival celebrations last Saturday at his Palace in Accra, the chief emphasised that peace and unity within communities were crucial in nation building.

Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III advised that despite the differences within the Ga state, it was important to continue to uphold peace before and after the elections.

He stressed that peace was the foundation of development and progress, hence the need to maintain harmony within the communities. 

The chief’s call for peace comes at a critical time, as the country prepares for general election.

“Peace is the backbone of our existence; without it, we cannot achieve our goals and aspirations,” he stressed. 

He urged the people to prioritise peace and work towards maintaining unity, regardless of their political affiliations.

He added that as the country approached the general election, it was crucial to prioritise peace and unity in order to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition.

“By prioritising peace, the communities will be peaceful and ensure prosperous future for all,” he stressed.

The Homowo festival celebrations provided a platform for the chief to address the community and emphasise the significance of peace.
