Afenyo-Markin petitions IGP, demands disciplinary action against police officer for assault

The Minority Leader, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin has petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, demanding an investigation and disciplinary action against Constable Forson over alleged assault.
According to him, during yesterday’s ‘Save The Judiciary’ Demonstration in Accra, he was assaulted by a police officer.
In a statement issued today, the Minority leader stated that “I hereby formally petition your office to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary action against Constable Forson, a tall, fair, and heavily built officer who was stationed at the entrance
of Parliament House to provide security during today’s “”Save the Judiciary” demonstration.”

The minority leader added, “To address the incident and correct misleading narratives circulating in the public domain,I have issued a public statement detailing the events as they occurred.”
