THE AABRYT Foundation has organised an empowerment workshop for adolescent students at Ejisuman Senior High School, focusing on menstrual health, emotional intelligence, personal security and career development.

The one-day initiative, dubbed “Glow, Grow, Bold Future,” was designed to equip both male and female students with vital life skills and leadership training.

As part of the outreach, the Foundation donated thousands of sanitary pads, along with food and beverages, to support the students’ welfare.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Director and Founder of the AABRYT Foundation, Diana Akosua Adutwumwaah Britwum, popularly known as Akosua Sarpong of Despite Media, highlighted the core purpose of the movement.

“The aim of this event is to help students glow and inspire them to become responsible leaders. Our purpose is to invite every Ghanaian to join this journey, as these beneficiaries could be your daughter, sister, niece or student chasing their dreams,” she said.

An alumna of Ejisuman SHS, Ms Britwum explained that prioritising her alma mater was a natural continuation of the Foundation’s ongoing outreach across various schools in the Western, Eastern and Ashanti regions.

The Headmistress of Ejisuman SHS, Mrs Cassandra Osei Wusu Antobre, commended the Foundation for an intervention she described as timely and essential for keeping girls in school.

“It is an undeniable fact that many girls miss classes because of menstruation, with many suffering in silence due to stigma. What AABRYT Foundation is doing is not just a donation of sanitary pads, but the restoration of hope and dignity to our girls,” Mrs Antobre said.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, Mr Kwabena Boateng, also commended the initiative and advised the students to remain disciplined and respect school authorities to safeguard their future ambitions.

Adding to the call for good character and discipline, Nana Kyerew Akenten, representing the Queen Mother of Ejisu, urged students to eschew immorality, remain focused and take their academic work seriously.

Similarly, the Board Chairman of Ejisuman SHS, Ntim Twumasi Kwaku, praised the Foundation and encouraged its Executive Director to extend the programme to other underserved schools.

Participating agencies included the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service and Ghana Post.

The security officials specifically warned students against the use of illicit drugs, noting that a clean record and good health were mandatory prerequisites for joining any state security institution.
