His Royal Majesty, Ya-Na Mahama Abubakari Gariba II, has pledged his unwavering support for Governmentโ€™s efforts to maintain peace and security in the Northern Region and across the country.

During a courtesy call by the Interior Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, at the Gbewaa Palace in Yendi, the Overlord of Dagbon called on all stakeholders to use legal and appropriate means to resolve misunderstandings and promote harmony.

The Overlord assured the Minister of his commitment to collaboration and urged him to continue his engagements with stakeholders to promote peace and security.

In his remarks, Hon. Muntaka reiterated the Governmentโ€™s dedication to working hand-in-hand with traditional authorities to address security challenges and promote development.

The Minister emphasised the vital role of traditional leaders in fostering peace and security, emphasizing their influence in community cohesion. He assured Ya-Na of the Ministryโ€™s commitment to collaborating with the palace to maintain peace and security in the region.

The courtesy call marks a step towards strengthening ties between Government and traditional authority with both sides committed to fostering peace and security in the Northern Region.

The Interior Minister, the Regional Minister and his entourage also visited Zabzugu to encourage police officers recently deployed to the area to maintain law and order amid ongoing disputes. Muntaka Mubarak assured the officers that they would be rotated every three months.
